The product of the polymerization process is unmodified PVC. Before PVC can be made into finished products, it always requires conversion into a compound by the incorporation of additives (but not necessarily all of the following) such as heat stabilizers, UV stabilizers, plasticizers, processing aids, impact modifiers, thermal modifiers, fillers, flame retardants, biocides, blowing agents and smoke suppressors, and, optionally, pigments.

Low polymerized PVC Resin SG-5 type shall be selected for UPVC pipe manufacturing. The higher degree of polymerization, the better physical mechanical property and heat resistance. But PVC Resin SG-5 has relatively low fluidity, thus causing difficulty in processing. Anyway PVC Resin SG-5 with viscosity of（1.7~1.8）×10-3Pa•s is a good choice.
PVC Resin SG-5 is used as raw material for extrusion of UPVC pipe. PVC heat stabilizer, PVC lubricant, filler and pigments are also needed. Abovementioned materials shall be blended in a certain proportion as formula. If single-screw extruder is used for extrusion of UPVC pipe, PVC masterbatch shall be added into the extruder. If double-screw extruder is used for extrusion of UPVC pipe, PVC compound powder can be used directly for extrusion of UPVC pipe.
PVC Stabilizer can be used only for increasing thermal decomposition temperature in processing because PVC Resin is a kind of heat-sensitive material. It means PVC Stabilizer will help extend heat stability time but cannot prevent PVC Resin from thermal decomposition. Therefore, temperature for PVC pipe processing should be strictly controlled.
